Ikoitei Kikuman Hotel - Yonago

We recently spent our New Year's vacation at a traditional Japanese ryokan/onsen in a small resort area. We appreciated the fantastic value of the experience and the wonderful staff who were welcoming, friendly, and really helpful during our stay. The spacious and clean tatami rooms were a great plus, and we loved the massage chair that was available in the room. the Japanese breakfast was amazing and the onsen was a dream. What we liked the most was the fact that the hotel was located just a minute walk away from a beautiful beach.

For those who are not used to traditional Japanese accommodations, it can be a little hard to adjust to sleeping on a thin Japanese-style futon. Although the tatami was comfortable, we found the mattress to be a bit too thin for our liking.

It was all superb.

Liked the traditional experience of sleeping on a thin futon on the tatami mat and the clean onsen, which I visited twice. The staff was wonderful, offering fantastic value for their services. The hotel's key location meant riding a bus for a short distance from the station. The spacious, clean tatami rooms were peaceful and perfect for a good night's sleep. Additionally, I enjoyed the massage chair in the room, and the breakfast was exceptional, with a proper Japanese kitchen that made my morning an absolute delight!

Disliked the thin mattress, but again, this is part of the traditional Japanese Ryokan/onsen experience.

The hotel's location is great since you can easily get there from the train station by bus. it is by the beach which is a plus. the staff was welcoming, friendly, and really helpful. the onsen was clean and nice to go to. Lastly, the breakfast had amazing Japanese cuisine and there was a massage chair in the room.

The hotel does not provide thick mattresses but rather traditional Japanese style futons which could be uncomfortable for some guests.

The hotel offered fantastic value and wonderful staff. The spacious and clean tatami rooms were a plus. The breakfast was amazing with a taste of Japanese cuisine, and the onsen was a dream come true. The location was perfect, being just a minute's walk to the beach and easy to get to from the train station.
